On March 26, 2007, Halifax 2014 released details of its proposed bid – sharing with the public its vision for the Games and the legacy opportunity the Games presented to the community.
The goal was to give the community a better understanding of the work produced by the Bid Committee and its ultimate task – preparing a successful bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
When the announcement was made on March 8th to pull the bid, Halifax 2014 was in the mid stages of preparing the bid and the committee was still in the process of refining the Games budget costing as well as the plans.
Therefore, the information that was made public was not complete.
